His life and how others see it...

Early Bio-Sketches

... ...from 1974, “Butterflies are Free” playbill

Although Butterflies are Free is Victor’s first appearance before Manila Theater Guild audiences, he is no newcomer to the theater. He has worked in just about every phase of the theater, both at De La Salle College in Manila and St. Louis University in Baguio. Among the plays Victor has either produced or directed at both schools are the local adaptation of Brother Orchid and the clerical comedy Shepherds on the Shelf. He has also played leading roles in Out of the Darkness, Do You Know the Milky Way, and Afraid of the Dark. In 1967, Victor was Captain and Best Debater of the La Salle College Champion Debating Team, and in 1969 held the same positions on the University of Santo Tomas Champion Debating Team. He has studied at the University of Wisconsin under a grant from the Ford Foundation, and at the Asian Institute of Management here in the Philippines. Although Victor's name appears only as a member of the cast of Butterflies are Free, he has lent a hand in nearly every aspect of this production—a truly gifted and most welcome addition to the Manila Theater Guild.
Victor has a Ph.D. in Oriental Philosophy and is Director of Institutional Planning at La Salle College in Manila. He says he is “unmarried, unattached, uncommitted, and drifting”—towards what he didn’t say.
