Redefining Teacher Training for Twenty-First Century
For International Conference on Teacher Education, Manila, 2000, 10 pp.
This was delivered in the Philippines at the time the country was in the midst of impeachment hearings of plunder against President Estrada. The importance of preparing a next generation of students for a more stable more ethical Philippines ultimately depends on how they are formed by their teachers. But if their teachers continue as they have for decades, the next generations will not be any better. Clearly a re-thinking of teacher education was needed.
